Outpost

Remote work that actually suits you

How it works

Reading job ads takes time: the details that decide whether a role suits you are spread through long descriptions. Outpost reads the whole ad, pulls those details out with the sentence each came from, and matches them against what you’re looking for.

Collect the jobs, politely

Twice a day Outpost reads public job feeds and company careers boards: Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Remotive, Remote OK, We Work Remotely, Himalayas, Hacker News, 4dayweek.io and Jobicy. Each source’s terms were read first: robots.txt is obeyed, requests are rate-limited, and listings link back to where they were posted. Sites whose terms forbid reuse are left out.

Duplicates of the same role (one ad per country, or the same job on two boards) are merged into one.

Keep only senior, remote TypeScript and Node.js roles

A quick filter keeps senior and above, remote, TypeScript, JavaScript or Node.js roles. Clear misses are stored, not shown; anything in between waits for a person to approve it.

Check every ad, with evidence

Each ad, and the company’s own careers and handbook pages, is read sentence by sentence for what actually decides whether a job suits you: office days, hybrid working, offsites and retreats, travel, who can apply from where, time zones, working days, contract or permanent, pay, holiday, equity, on-call and the interview steps.

Every finding carries the exact quote it came from. A rule-based checker does this for every job; Claude reads the harder ones. Claude’s quotes are checked against the ad, and any that can’t be found word for word are thrown away, so evidence is never made up.

    offsite

A remote role with a retreat twice a year: fine for most people, but it doesn’t meet a “no in-person time at all” must-have, and the quote shows why.

An illustration, not a real listing.

Judge it against what you need

You pick your must-haves: fully remote, can apply from your country, four days or fewer, minimum pay, time zone, stack, sectors to avoid, company size, interview steps you won’t do. Every job then gets one of three verdicts, worked out for you when you look, never stored:

  • pass the ad shows every must-have is met.
  • fail the ad shows at least one must-have is broken, with the quote that proves it.
  • unverified the ad doesn’t say. These are shown, never hidden: Outpost says it doesn’t know instead of guessing.

No account? Verdicts check the in-person promise only, or you can try a set of example preferences from the home page.

Track applications, privately

Save, hide, add notes and move jobs from saved to offer. That lives in your browser, so it works without an account; with one, it syncs between your devices. Saved searches become email digests (coming soon). See privacy for exactly what’s stored.
